| Comments: | This biopsy was submitted from a 48-year-old Asian female's labia. Fordyce spots are considered a normal physiologic variant and represent sebaceous glands, or sebaceous gland hyperplasia, in mucosal sites, i.e. oral cavity, vulva. They often present as yellow clustered papules and are not commonly biopsied. This case shows the typical histology. There are numerous sebaceous glands, some directly connecting to the mucosal surface. | ||||
