| Comments: | This healthy preschooler developed an itchy painful crusted papule on her left knee which enlarged over a week to form an round plaque with multiple rings comprised of edematous crusted papules and confluent vesicles. Culture grew Trichophyton tonsurans, and she was treated with oral griseofulvin with dramatic improvement in the lesion noted 2 weeks later on the associated image. To relieve her intense pruritus a class 2 topical steroid was applieddaily for a week. The lesion cleared with postinflammatory hyperpigmentation 1 month later. | ||||
